Sound stuttering after Mountain Lion install

iMac, mid 2011, bto 3,4ghz i7 amd6970m 2gb.

I actually have no lag after all. Don't know the heck why. But i think its not RAM related, that's a software bug.

I did one thing though,

-System preferences

-Sound

-Sound effects

-Play sound effects: selected internal speakers.

(sorry about the bad translation, i do have osx in another language and i could have mispelled something)

I have a 256 SSD drive and the 2 tb drive in mine. As well as the 16 gigs of Samsung ram from and installed by apple at order. The rest of my specs are the same as ArchiResearch.

I'm thinking this is a driver issue with the SSD. I'm assuming everyone with the audio stutter and the jumping cursor issues also has a SSD?

Negative. I have the stock 1TB regular drive in my iMac.

Can everyone start sending in tips to tech publications about this? I think this needs way more media attention than that CNet article that was pretty much ignored.

Chilblaine, I've also got a 2010 iMac with a core I7 quad core processor. That one doesn't do the cursor jumping, but it does do a little bit of the audio issues every once in a while. I'm trying to narrow down what the potentials are for similarities and dissimilarities between us that are experiencing this issue and those that are not.

So far we know that a mid 2011 iMac with and without the solid-state hard drive still has the issue. Does everyone in here also have an i7 processor and the 2 gig 6970 video card?

Me too, i have the 1 tb seagate drive.

I sayid it a lot of times... mine is a early 2011 i7 macbook pro 13". No graphics card. No solid state. The only thing that gives me a weak hint is that people with higher end models sayid before they were able to stop the problem by forcing the graphics card aways on. So the problem for them was happening when switching to integrated intel. I only have the integrated intel, and none has solved for me so far.

No SSD here, I am thinking the common denominator here is that none of us are using a Mac Pro

The only other area I can think is suspect are the driver/kernels for the logic boards on our computers. All of our machines have this as they are variants of laptops, including the iMac. So at its most basic, they are all alike in that regard.

And it isn't a firmware issue as the problem doesn't manifest itself in bootcamp under windows.

I know where lies the problem, the problem is Apple.

If it were microsoft with such a big track of complains on Windows 8, it would be in all media corners. They would have been solved this long ago.

Apple is just ignoring.

Perhaps the issue lies with a driver for a component exclusive to the laptops?

@Anthonysanto: Except, as is clear from reading this forum, that the issue is not restricted to laptops.

My mid-2011 iMac has a fit after 15 mins of EVE Online and Teamspeak using USB headset. It's marginally better if I use built in mic and crank down the graphic requirements. None of these issues appeared under Lion, at all.

What's more, I've noticed that when my machine is having "an episode", only one of my 4 cores is being spanked while the other 3 are not.

Most people who aren't seeing the problem, probably aren't stressing there machine in the same way. And, yes, a quad core 3.1 Ghz i5 with 8GB memory should be able to do what I'm asking of it.
