Problem with Time machine backup

Hey Guys,


I need a bit of help on backing up my New Ratina mackbook pro with Mountain Lion using Timemachine. it was working fine before Mountain lion before. I was using My Qnap NAS to backup over wifi.I am having backup disk is not available but there is no problem with the disk. I have other macbook working properly. i was getting the following error in system.log. what am i doing wrong or is that a bug in mountain lion?

In doing some searching it seem that a number of people are having trouble with Qnap NAS and Mountain Lion.

As there have been OEM NAS and Time Machine incompatibilities in the past it's hard to make a firm conclusion as to the root cause of the problem.


However, I found this in the 4th post in another thread:

I solved the problem with my QNAP by first connecting to the network drive and logging in so that it mounted on the desktop, then selected it from Time Machine Preferences. Now it works as before.

I interpret this to mean - remove the Qnap, and then mount it, and then select anew.

Further it has been suggested to try a full reset see this for details.


Is the other Mac Book that is working properly running Mountain Lion?

Is one attached wirelessly and one wired? (this has been suggested as part of the problem in other threads on this issue.
