3 monitors from a single 5870

I have a Mac Pro with a single ATI Radeon HD 5870. I am trying to use 3 monitors with but the although it has 3 outputs only 2 monitors work. I have a MiniDisplay to Dual Link DVI Adapter but the 3rd screen is still all black. Can any one suggest a configuration. I hope i dont need another graphics card.

You need ACTIVE Mini DisplayPort adapters.

DVI (1920 x 1200 maximum resolution)

So the ones I have pictured are not ACTIVE? I thought they were. I'll have to check my purchase history and see what I bought. But thanks for the input Malcolm.🙂

I also have a 2009 Mac Pro and am considering buying a HD 5870, but only if I can confirm that it can support 3 monitors.

Did you get 3 monitors to work after you bought the ACTIVE mini DisplayPort adapters?
