After I upgraded to Mountain Lion my kids can't access YouTube on their user accounts. They have parental controls active with unrestricted access to websites. I've also tried allowing the OS to limit adult websites automatically and have added http://www.youtube.com to the always allow section. Still won't load.
YouTube will load when I turn off parental controls. This is not a long term solution. Anyone else having this problem?

Looks like some of the parental controls settings became locked/corrupted when I upgraded from 10.7 to 10.8. Does anyone know which files I should delete to completely reset parental controls to their default state? Thanks.
It isn't just You Tube. I get the same problem with the Mac App Store which reports no Internet connection. Interestingly enough what ever the issue is it does indeed interupt the Internet connection. iMessage is configured on my kids Macs so they can message with their grandparents. When ever you attempt to access Mac App Store or youtube (via Safari) iMessage logs out!
Yes! Having the same issues with Mac App Store, as well. Frustrating, but glad to know it's not something I'm doing wrong.
I spent some time on the phone with AppleCare. Seems like this is a Mountain Lion bug.
Very poor QA. It is such an obvious bug since you just have to run Software Update (which runs periodically). Under ML it will launch Mac App Store and then fail with no Internet connection. This is how I first found it as I ran Software Update to get the MacBook Air firmware update required for Power Nap. Later one of my daughters complained she could not get to YouTube (which I verified on both MacBook Airs).
Same problem here... I called Applecare and told them the morning after ML was released. They called me two days later and said the engineers had "discovered" this problem and were working on it. Still not working...
Same problem here. Even coolmath-games.com doesn't work with parental controls enabled. Hopefully we'll get 10.8.1 soon.
Same problem: Youtube.com and parts of FLVS.net do not work with Chrome, Firefox, or Safari under a managed parental controlled account.
Youtube works if you address it securely. Unfortunately FLVS doesn't offer the option.
Sites work if you disable parental controls...
Glad(?) to read that others are having the same problem. I found that you can access individual Youtube pages with parental controls by typing the URL extension after "www.youtube.com". Doesn't really help but may be diagnostic.
OSX update 10.8.1 did not fix the bug it doesn't seem.
SO glad I found this thread... I was going crazy trying to find what was going on. On my son's MacBook Air, Parental Controls is blocking just about everything, in including access to SugarSync for our online cloud backup.
I do hope this will be resolved soon! I'm an Apple fan, but this is a major oversight... Unacceptable, Mr. Cook.
Can someone check this post, I'm not able to access it. It says that I don't have permission. I have Parental Controls set up on a mac mini that my children use - which is how I found this site. However, the llnk to Apple discussion thread 4334030 is not working - I'm trying on my MBP that does not have PC active.
I have the same problem as mac_hk.
I just bought a MacBook Air for our office with OS X 10.8 and experienced the same problem. After I updated the OS to 10.8.2, the problem went away.
