empty trash in Mountain Lion
I am getting this error message since upgrade to Mountain Lion, "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items."
Any ideas?

Thank you! Worked for me too! I needed to delete some ancient backups from my backup drive. I got them in the trash but couldn't empty the trash! You ROCK!
Try the following steps:

2.) select Finder and press "Relaunch"

I just had this happen when deleting a JPG file I downloaded from an email. I am running OS X 10.8.2.
The above solution worked for me. Thank you.
Some notes for other users:
* This was not a permissions issue. I did not have to run disk repair or restart. The file had read/write permission on my User ID in Get Info...
* The "Secure Delete" and "Secure Delete with Control + Alt" did not work as other users insisted it would work.
* By relaunching the Finder, it seems to have dropped the Finder's "file handle" to the JPG file. I guess this is a bug in the Mountain Lion finder where it sometimes holds a lock on a file and doesn't release it. Since the Finder has the lock, you as the user don't have "permission" to delete it. The real question is, what causes the Finder to do this so it doesn't happen again! :-)
Thanks a lot.. It worked for me...

For those who haven't yet been able to empty the trash, try this :
