Multi Touch (proper) in Boot Camp

Is Apple ever going to add essential multi-touch features to Boot Camp drivers for Windows 7? I'm talking about: two finger swipe for back/forward in browsers, pinch to zoom, proper draglock (the present adds alot of delay if combined with tap for click). I like OSX, but W7 is needed by my school, and sometimes I want to get out of Parallels and into native.

I tried the unofficial Trackpad ++ driver, which do adds some nice features. However it requires his Power Plan to be running aswell, and it requires internet every week to check for updates, else you'll need to pay. Which to me also seems like in the future he wants it to be pay only. I don't want to sound cheap, but I'm a student and want to keep costs low, besides his drivers arent that ground shaking, eg. using 3 finger swipe UP instead of pinch to zoom, which isn't that refined. Also it doesn't play well with Parallels. He (the developer of Trackpad ++) says it's not compatible with Parallels if using it with your Boot Camp, however it actually is, as long as you kill the Parallels processors at startup (prl_cc.exe and prl_tools.exe) / prevent them from running and start them manually when starting inside a VM. This isn't a very elegant solution however.

Btw. for anyone using multi OS. I can only recommend checking out maComfort. It's free and adds all the Mac shortcuts you're used to like cmd+t for new tab or cmd+w to close app/tab when running native Windows on your Mac. And much more. I am in no way affiliated with them. Havent tried it with Parallels yet though, but I would suspect it would conflict, so the app has to be opened manually inside VM or started manually when running native.

Hello "The hatter"

Microsoft does not add gestures to drivers, in fact they can't as Microsoft does not control which pieces of hardware (touchpads) the manufactures uses.

To answer your question, Windows 7 do have the ability to execute commands when receiving multi touch gestures, if the driver allows it.

My recent Acer PC's had multi touch gestures like pinch to zoom, swipe for back/forth in browsers, two finger scrolling and the like. Every (portable) computer these days have these and running W7, it is however up to the manufacturer of the touchpad driver to implement these.

Anyway. Hope someone has more insight into this, maybe more alternative drivers?

A Chrome extension is out which enable Bootcampers to swipe back/forth for pages. You can get it here:

Or search for it yourself:

Swipe Gesture

In google addon store.

All credits goes to antimatter15.com for creating this. It's still at an early stage, but very useful indeed. And as seeing that swiping back/forth is one of the most used multi touch features (at least to my experience) this addon is a godsend. Also has no problem with people running virtual machines, as the addon can simply be turned off.
