Mountain Lion disconnect from Ethernet in sleep mode

Ok same problem as everyone else. Upgraded to ML and when I tried to access the drive contected to my I-mac after it went to sleep my Win 7 laptop couldn't wake my mac. After doing some reading I installed Bonjour on my win 7 laptop and it now wake my I-mac out of sleep. My I-pad is connected to my router through a lan cable and I have the wifi turned off on my I-mac. My win 7 laptop is wifi.

I am also having similar issues with newer laptops. I have a Mac Pro w/Retina purchased back in April 2013 and a MacAir 13" don't remember with retina or not, was purchased in June 2013. They are both having issues with loosing connections on ethernet while going to sleep. I have tried many different solutions and still haven't found a fix. Has anyone found or been given a fix for this? I'm thinking Apple is waiting for the next OS to come out and are hoping it fixes this issue.

For anyone that put reports in, did you hear back about anything?

I haven't heard anything, but I don't have this problem any more. As I reported back in May, running Disk Warrior cleared it.

It's still unclear what your Disk Warrior recovery has to do with the problem seeming to disappear.

A summary you can try(details can be found im this discussion)

1) recovery by sudo ifconfig en0 down and then ifconfig en0 up

2) use .wake and .sleep scripts

3) remove network profiles and add again only you use.

4) wait with commands coming out of sleep for some seconds.

5) replace cables with real cat6 cables

6) update to mac os x 10.8.4. Did not see it on this level yet. But could be fixed just before (cat 6 cables)

7) Nvram clear does not help.

I can't tell you which really did it. But this finally is solved from my side.

Definitely it ws not the update to OS X 10.8.4 that fixed the problem for you. Although I don't experience the disconnect from hard-wired Ethernet connection as often lately, it still does occur. And each time it does, what always works is:

sudo ifconfig en0 down

sudo sleep 5

sudo ifconfig en0 up

Just to let you know. I am still out of problems. No occurance anymore.

The Problem is virtually solved via updates - and the airport extreme updates

for a while now

I AM IN NO RUSH for OS X MAVERICKS

not until the first update at the EARLIEST

I LEARNED MY LESSON

with OS X MOUNTAIN LION

IT IS FINALLY working with relative stability

and I am no longer angry everytime I am using my Apple Computers

I believe there is no reason to put myself in that position again.

THATS the WHOLE REASON I gave up on Microsoft and switched to Apple

This year long problem is enough to convince me that change for change sake is not always good.

I dont even feel the need to go the the iPhone 5s cause my 5 is nearly identical and I can actually take a year off from relearning anything, LOL may even try to avoid ios 7 for awhile

just not feeling the need for aggravation frankly.

I'm on Mavericks on a late 2013 MacBook Pro 15" Retina top spec. Every time it sleeps, lost Internet access via Ethernet. And as per other threads, Bluetooth kills the WiFi - everytime.

Ah ha, I found this on another thread, and it works for me on Mavericks:

System Preferences > Network > with Thunderbolt Ethernet highlighted, click Advanced > IPv6: change to Link-local Only > Hit Renew DHCP Lease > OK > Apply.
