From a few hours to a few more. Depend's on your service. You want to make sure your unit is set to not go too sleep. When that happens it stops downloading
.
When I paid at the APP store and started downloading it said to allow about 8 hours. Now It shows 2 1/2 hours left. I had not set my MAC mini to never going to sleep. :-( but I changed that about 3:00 am.

Darn! wish I had known that first.... Do I have to do anything to get the download started again?
Just go to system preferences, click on energy saver, set it on never sleep. The down load will start up as it stops when the unit sleeps.
Go to APP's click on purchases and it will show you the status of the Lion down load. Mine is now under two hours left.
It took me about 45 mins with 20MB broadband
My connection is about 3mb, I just started and it says it will take in the region of 24 hours....:(
Kate, just make sure your Mini is not set to go to sleep or shut down in any way.
The macpro laptop took less than 7 hours(not sure, went to bed after it started) and the mini took much, much longer. Next to the "this helped me" line, they need a "this amused me line!" I started my Mini. went to bed, went to work and was ready the next day, so I can believe the 24 hr figure.

Depends on the hardware. Mine took about 20 minutes, so far, but I hsven't hit "Install" yet. Here goes...
oh... oops... didn't realize this was a Mac mini group. Please disregard this post. heh...

With the 25 Megabit Blast service with Comcast, took about 40 minutes.
For future reference for those with multiple Macs, download the OS
installer but when the install dialog comes up cancel. Get a USB stick
or any other removable drive and copy the installer fro applications.
This way, all you need to do is copy the installer to the Application folder
on your other Macs and run it.
I took my laptop to Apple yesterday at 11:30 AM, it is now 10:30 the following day and they have still not contacted me that it has downloaded!
My iMac is taking for ever!!!! ugh it say its going to take about 3 to 6 day thats to long!!!!!
iMac mid-2009 Intel. 2 Mbps internet connection speed. 40% done in 3 hrs. so should take another 4-5 hrs which is about 7-8 hrs. 3-6 days or even 24 hrs seems ridiculously long unless the internet connection is really slow.
It's weird my old MacBook mid 2009 took a little over an hour. I just got a new 2012 MacBook Pro and it says around 15 hours so big difference and my MacBook had snow leopard and this has lion.
After 10 hrs my macbook pro downloaded it. I dont know why it took so much longer than my macbook i had tons of stuff on it and the mbp was new just outta the box.
with 8 MB it is says 1 hour and 22 minutes.
