Does anyone have an email client that is working with Mountain Lion? I'm giving up on Mail after installing Mountain Lion

Hi

I give up. I just cannot see my exchange inbox in Mail after installing Mountain Lion. My mail is not being deleted. Its still in my inbox I just can't see it. I've tried everything suggested on the forums and nothing is working for me.

My productivity has completely stalled and I really need to move to an email client that is going to work seamlessly with Mountain Lion.

Any recommendations?

AND with the RSS Feeds NOT working in BOTH Mail and Safari! That was a HUGE MISTAKE and definitely a STEP BACKWARDS on whoever's idea that was for sure!

I was also upset about this and then went looking for an RSS reader. I'm using Vienna now, and I find it's a much better experience than using Safari.

I never found too much appealing about Apple Mail. I wanted to like it, but it never worked well for me. I actually like Entourage/Outlook much better.

Thanks for replying - I am struggling to get Outlook working on Mountain Lion too; Also Mountain lion continually drops wireless connections. Apple is a joke. Recently migrated from PC - I neeeded Apple's video editor - but for the rest? Clunky and full of bugs. I am so underwhelmed.

Well that's certainly not been my experience, and I've been using Macs since 1993. Mountain Lion is a bit glitchy at times. I find if I don't shut my Mac down it works fine. This is not the usual case for Apple. If you think OS X is clunky compared to Windows, you need to give it more time. Windows is hugely clunky and makes you do four times as much to get the same job done. I've helped several friends and family members switch over to Macs. After a while they get the hang of it and I no longer get phone calls from them for help, and when they were on Windows they were calling me weekly.

I didn't have to do anything to get Outlook working when I upgraded from Entourage, and the upgrade to Mountain Lion didn't break anything, except that Outlook often takes a long time to start up; but only if I had shut the Mac down at night. So now I out it to sleep. But then I had my email accounts in there already. But I recently added one (I have 7 email accounts in Outlook) and it went fine.

Outlook should be able to set up the account automatically, but if not just find out what the settings should be.

I haven't had a wireless drop in OS X since 2007, so you can't just blame Mountain Lion.

Windows, on the other hand, drops connections all the time for me.

Hmmm, wrong thread. Interesting AD bug, sorry about that.

I am doing a trial of Postbox. http://postbox-inc.com

After I upgraded to ML, Mail did not work at all, even after re-setting everything back up from scratch, everything I could do or think of just wouldn't work and still doesn't - but as of today from Apple releasing ML 10.8.1, I have yet to upgrade.

So since I was having so much trouble with Mail, I also switched to Postbox. While it's a pretty nice mail application, there are some things missing from it, but at least it's working.

Anyhow, I guess I'll see what the newest version of ML brings in... Hopefully more fixes than more bugs *crosses fingers*.

At any rate, for anyone wishing or needing to switch from Apple's Mail app to something other than that, MS Office, Thunderbird, etc. I highly suggest Postbox. It's very slimmed down, limited in some ways, but at least it gets the job done and that's the point isn't it!? 😝

I have the exact same problem BUT only on my desktop machine. Mountain Lion Mail on my desktop can not connect to any SMTP server other than my icloud account. My laptop running Mountain Lion has no problem communicating with the SMTP servers either wirelessly or through ethernet. I'm wondering if the internal port settings of the two machines are somehow set differently.

VERY frustrating. Still have not found the answer.
