For what it's worth, I noticed that using an external display seems to make the condition worse, meaning it happens more frequently. Considering I used that more than my laptop screen, it's really frustrating. I'm now worried that I'm going to burn out my fan when I leave my laptop alone too long. I just keeping hoping that an update will remedy this. It's getting old.

I'm going to not displaying WiFi on the menu bar too, hope it helps. It is happening to both my 2007 iMac and 2011 iMac.

I did make a script, which I turned into an app on my dock for an easy fix, I can't count how many times I looked at the clock and thought, I can't believe it's only 2 pm... it feels like 4 pm. Not a good thing to be happening on a work computer.

Script:

do shell script "killall SystemUIServer"

Hopefully 10.8.3 addresses this glitched in Lion.

Some kind of an update.

It's not exactly update, but my menu stopped freezing few weeks ago. instead, the computer stopped sleeping.

The only way is to put it to sleep is manually from the Apple menu.

Of coarse the screen saver doesn't work.

I assumed that 10.8.3. is not adres the issue too

but maybe one of the developers will understand the connection between the 2 things? if there is a connection

anyone?

thanks

its been some time now. but the problem was never solved, but today due to some network problems i discovers that when i was working on my modem, (so no wifi) the screensaver started to work, and when i turned it on again, the computer refused to sleep. so i know now that the problem connected to the wifi.

how do i solve it? no idea.

anyone?
