Thanks. Well, I'm running Mail, Safari, iTunes, Contacts, Pages, Evernote, and 1Password.

I am most suspicious of 1Password and Evernote, since they're the only 2 not-Apple applications. But I don't want to lose my notes in Evernotes and I really can't lose my passwords in 1Password, since it makes them up for me and I've no idea what they are. Maybe I can start with the 1Password Safari plug-in.

I have downloaded AppCleaner and spent a satisfying 30 mins uninstalling things I don't even recognise or remember and deleting them.

I am tempted to try the beta 10.8.2, but worried that will create more problems than it fixes, being a beta...

I'm also having serious issues with ML. My 2010 Macbook Air freezes to halt using Chrome, Firefox and Safari and the only solution is to force the power off. Not really the new OS experience I was expecting. The computer feels much slower in general in ML than it was with Lion. I really wouldn't want to spend a day reverting back to Lion, but if Apple doesn't provide a solution soon, I might have to.

I have not had any crashes since I last wrote here 24 hrs ago - after I used AppCleaner 2 to remove all old apps and p-lists (especially old Adobe and Flash stuff) - I trashed everything I hadn't opened for 3+ years - and since I trashed all cookies in Safari, emptied the trash, then restarted and repaired permissions.

I will keep you updated as until I've had a week with no crashes, I'm not getting excited...

I am not sure the word Freezing is what I would use for what is happening for me, the word I would use is more like Stalling for every app that I use. It would take about 2-3 minutes before I can get anything to work. It's a major bug allright.

Now my really old Window's computer is starting to look so much better than the iMac which is a lot newer, sad but true.

I hope Apple people are doing something NOW to fix this thing!

If you haven't used them for years - or if they have a 'no entry' sign as an icon, showing that they won't run on ML anyway - chances are you don't need them.

Also, there is a file which ML has created called 'Incompatible Software' - I think there are actually 2 of these files in different places. The read-file says that software which is incompatible with ML has been placed in there because otherwise it will cause problems (or something). I deleted what was in there too. And emptied the Trash.
