How do I delete multiple photos from the Camera Roll?

How to mass delete camera roll photosin3 clicks

1. Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your Mac;

2. Open the Image Capture;

3. Select all the photos (Command + A), and click the delete button. [It's the "red" bottom at the bottom of the Image Capture screen.]

Or you can do it right from the phone...

Settings > General > Usage > Photos & Camera > swipe on Camera Roll and tap Delete. ALL camera roll photos will be deleted.

NONE of these methods work for me. camera roll swipe / delete does not delete. connect to windows explorer will not let me delete. itunes does not delete.
