No, not possibel but you can connect to computer to do that.
The easiest way is to connect it to your computer and open the camera roll as a digital camera with the camera and scanner wizard.
Alternatively, on the phone, open the camera roll, if it isn't displaying thumbnails tap the "camera roll" label on the upper left. Then tap the box with an arrow on the bottom of the screen, tap each photo you want to delete once, then tap Delete.
It is completely crazy to have to hook the phone up to a computer to delete photos efficiently. Stone age...
The alternative is to follow the instructions I provided.
Thanks for your posts on this - it's something I've been wondering about, too.
I do agree with Bonzo that it seems strange that there isn't a way to do it *efficiently* without having to hook the iPad to a computer.
I know there is an alternative: in other words, you're right, Lawrence - it is possible to delete multiple files at once by following your instructions (i.e. tapping on each photo once, etc.) - but if you want to delete lots of photos, it takes ages to tap on every one of them.
Does anyone else out there know of a way to delete multiple photos on the iPad/iPhone/iPod touch without having to tap on each photo separately, or having to hook up to a computer?
I'd be really grateful for any help on this. Thanks!
Thanks very much for your post, Jet - but I was wondering if there's a way to delete multiple photos quickly without connecting the iOS device to a computer. Thanks in advance for any help.
You CAN delete mutiple photos off camera roll. Simply open the album "Camera Roll" (or which ever album contains the photos you wish to delete) and hit the edit button in the upper right hand corner. Touch the photos you want to get rid of and a red check will appear on them, then hit the delete button.
My problem with with iPad. There is no Camera Roll Album on iMac. But the Camera Roll is showing "Usage" of 19GB when there is nothing in it on the iPad? I also have duplicated Events appearing on the iPad. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much! That worked like a charm. 😀
Am not sure about your usae issue, but the Camera Roll the other person was mentioning is on your iPhone. Go to Photos, Camera Roll, Edit, and then touch the pictures you want selected, then Delete.
I'm going the 'deleting photos from iPhone' route and I don't have the "tap the box with an arrow on the bottom of the screen". Instead what I see are two tab looking items Albums & Photostream. I couldv'e sworn that the box with arrows used to be there. Any ideas?
Nevermind, problem solved. Unclebrandy's post helped.
I just found out an easy way to do this not too long ago just by messing around with my phone. A very easy and fast way to do this is by first going to your photos and click on camera roll. Then click on edit located on the top right hand corner. Select a the photos you want to get rid of, and finally click the "delete" option, which is the 3rd one over at the bottom of your screen. P.s. you can also choose to save them to another photo file or share them via email or in a text message.
There is no delete button.
If you follow ALL of the directions that @Unclebrandy provided there will be a Delete button.
