Copying Windows files (pdf, jpg, .docx) to iPad?

We frequently travel with our dogs and we like to have some of their medical records with us.

Vaccination records, certificates, etc.

I have those on my Windows 7 machine as pdf's, jpg's and Word documents.

I'd like to get a copy (they are usually good for a year) to my iPad so that we would have easy access to it.

I know how to make a new folder and move apps into that folder.

What is the best way to get these kind of files to my iPad? Or is there an app for this?

Thanks for any help or advice!

Yep, I'm getting the hang of it.

I used iTunes to send a copy of Pages to my wifes iPad.

Then I synced both of the iPads and she should now be able to see the little doc's I

sent from iCloud and updated.

Also sent a pdf via e-mail and opened that up in iBooks.

I think we are going to get an Airplay capable printer so we can print easily from the iPads.

I'm sure there is a way to scan things in and send them to the iPad.

So that will be another great way to put all this together.

I do have an Airport Express. But I have a Lexmark Pro205 printer.

It is really Airprint capable. Lexmark makes an app. But it doesn't do things like print an e-mail.

I did e-mail a pdf to the iPad. That opened up great in iBooks.

But like y'all said that's about it. So I'm going to open a new discussion to see about some

suggestions for a pdf handling app. I looked at GoodReader. That may be it.

I thought I would post this fwiw. Might help some other newbie.

After I installed Pages on my iPad I used iTunes on my PC to send the app to my wife's iPad.

That worked fine.

Then I created a document on my iPad. Sync'ed my iPad. Sync'ed my wife's.

I expected to see my document on my wife's iPad. We use the same Apple ID for Home Sharing, iTunes purchases, etc. But it never showed up.

Contacted Apple support. What they told me is that the sync'ing of the documents is a function of iCloud not of iTunes. In order for my document to get to the other iPad automatically the two iPads would need to share the same iCloud id. They don't. The Apple rep discouraged me from using the same iCloud id for the two iPads. Which is fine by me. I can e-mail the documents I want to share. So that is fine. The Apple rep's big concern was that sharing the same iCloud account could make backup/restore more challenging. We do backup to iCloud.

I'm getting an iPhone shortly. I talked with the rep about sharing the iCloud id with the iPhone because I do want to automatically sync my iPad and iPhone. He said that would work out fine.
