NO.
If I have 4000+ photos, this is a ridiculous way to delete them all. There has to be a way to select all and delete ...I fi am on vacation or on foot with no access to a mac desktop, this company's only solution is click click click x4000? So much for user friendly.
What if I don't have access to a mac and I need to clear the phone? This is crazy. Apple strikes again. Ugh.
Uhm. I've been able to bulk delete pictures from my iPhone(s) for well over a year.
Go into Collections. Tap on a collection then hit Select in the upper left corner. Then hit select on each group in the collection you want to delete. Once selected, hit the Trash Can.
This is for iOS 7. I don't have an iOS 6 phone handy to research this on.
Anyway...some of these posts have helped me. I hate iTunes and wisht there was a bulk photo delete on the iphone.

Is possible using icloud backup feature creatively. ..
1. Go to Settings/icloud ensure that this feature is on
2. Uncheck "photos" in the Settings/icloud menu
3. At the bottom of Settings/icloud screen tap Storage and Backup
4. Ensure icloud backup is enabled
5. Tap Back Up Now
6. When backup complete go to settings/general/reset and erase all content & settings
7. Restore your phone from the icloud backup you just created
8. Everything is there as before but zero photos
5 Once back up
Yes, partially. You don't have to use iTunes, but you do have to use a computer. All you need is a Mac and USB cable. You can probably do the equivelant on a Windows, too. If you want to delete the entire mass of photos, you can open a program that comes installed on the Mac called Image Capture. In there, you can select all (command A) and click this little red icon near the bottom of the window, next to the field selecting where to save the photos. That will delete them from the iPhone, or any camera.
Except this doesn't involve iTunes, it only requires a Mac, and it's an extremely straightforward process. Just find some random friend with a Mac and use that.
Thanks so much, finding your post help me immensely.
Unless you are 100% certain please do not mis direct others.
IT IS POSSIBLE TO DELETE PHOTOS IN BULK on iOS, check out http://www.appandora.com/ 🙂
My method is the simplest by far! Just install the exe from http://www.appandora.com/ and drag and drop or select all and delete. EASY!
There is a way! Connect your iPhone to your Mac> Open App 'Preview' > File > Import from iPhone (name) > Select all pictures > click delete
Fantastic answer Nigel. Saved me endless hours of tedious manual selection and deletion of photos.
