Trackpad Gestures not working
I updated my 13" macbook pro to Mountain Lion and since then, trackpad gestures (4 fingers up to go to mission control, etc.) are not working. I have to restart to get it to work.

try toggling those settings off and on next time it happens in system preferences>trackpad.
Already tried it and it´s not working either... Any other ideas?
Hi,
after sleeping mode my trackpad gestures also not working. The four finger swipe or the five finger gestures are not recognized. Scrolling and "Swipe" through Web Site is working?!
I also tested to open the trackpad system preferences, deactivated the bluetooth connection, but the only solution to the problem was the to log myself out.
Apple, please fix it! ML is a good OS but, this isn't very convinient...😮
I think I´ve worked out a temporary solution. Do you have screen saver turned on? Try turning it off and see what happens.
Hi,
thanks for the tip. I turned my screensaver off and watch the problem closely... Up to now the problem did not occur. I am eager to see how long it will be ok... 😉
I had the same problem and the screensaver workaround seemed to have solved it for me! I still can use the screen saver with "hot corner" but it is set to "never" for it's auto start. Thanks FerCepeda
I am having the same issue since upgrade, trackpad and Mac Mini. I will try the screen saver. Thanks for the tip.
omg thanks alot i was just getting so frustrated my trackpad was freaking out with just my one finger clicking gesture... had to do 3 or 4 clicks for 10 mins came here and tried your tip... just thought i should say thanks alot!
thnks for the tip... hope Apple solve it soon ;P
I had this problem too, Magic Trackpad, Imac 27 2009, 10.8
Screensaver trick didnt work for me, but typing killall Dock into terminal did fix the problem.
Weird.
I hope 10.8.1 fixes all these issuses... the computer sometimes becomes very slow... have to sleep on and off to fix that! grrr
Thanks for the tip. The screensaver set to 'never' and a restart fixed the problem for me.
iMac 24" 2009 OS X 10.8
Update: "fixed the problem for me" for awhile. Now I encounter the same issue. Maybe because I started the screen saver yesterday via a corner hotspot. Hopeful for 10.8.1 to fix this soon.
Turning off the screen saver (switching it to NEVER) resolved this issue for me too. I got my gestures back without having to restart the computer.
Worked for me...thanks!
Try typing this in Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.dock contents-immutable -bool FALSE ; killall "Dock"
After that all gestures start working again.
I don´t know what the problem is, hope Apple fix this soon.
