Why Safari 6.0 will not auto complete the password ?

Scott - do you work for 1password. You are suggesting that we pay for something that our ipad did for free before the latest upgrade. How ******** is that.

There is a safari extension you can download which enables you to have passwords saved. Sometimes you have to go into Keychain.app and store it first, but then safari will ask to use the stored info in Keychain the first time you visit the website... I am running 10.8.2 and Safari 6.0.1 and it works great on many site that didn't save due to the autocomplete=OFF craziness... message me for the file (as I don't think I can post links on here?). my username on here at mac or search google for autocomplete.safariextz , download it and click on it to install in safari.

VERY nice! Worked like a charm. Thank you so much, it was driving me crazy, as I had one site that just wouldn't save. I even tried 1Password, it worked for a bit and then failed to enter the password.

Followup. Worked for about an hour- even logged out/in to check it. But then closed down Safari and opened it an hour later, now autocomplete for that site fails. I'm running 6.0.1, and the iteration number of the extension was 1.0. Oh well, worth a try.

See that's weird, it is still working for me, without issues (well bofa never worked because they have a separate page to enter the password). Paypal, my wife's work site... all still autofill. I've closed safari, had my computer off, tried going in "private browsing" and then back and it still works for me.

Hi all. I also have an iPhone 3GS and recently updated to iOS 6.0 (this update includes some update in Safari as well). Even here autocomplete is not working anymore... Could not be more frustrating...

10.8.2 and Safari 6.0.2 on Mac with the same issue.

Till yesterday autofill was working, since this morning it's not working anymore on certain websites.

Also a huge number of passwords have disappeared from keychain.

Furthermore Safari is not offering saving the username/password for sites whose entries are missing from keychain.

Websites where autofill is not working anymore have no autofill tag in html at all.

Here's what helped:

- close all apps

- delete the 'com.apple.Safari' folder from ~/Library/Caches/...

- I've restored the users 'login.keychain' from a Time Machine backup

logout and login

Voila it's working again!

I also downloaded autocomplete.safariextz and now everything works perfectly as before.

By the way, this problem also appears in iPhone 5. Do anyone have any idea how to overcome this problem in iPhone (probably also present in iPad)???

I would love to know the answer to that too, though I am guessing it's not as easily fixed.

I gave up with Safari on my new I Pad Mini as far as remembering passwords,etc. Download Atomic Web Browser; its free and works well in this regard!

I unchecked the private browsing and it came alive again....

You can use TapIN (auto login app). It save me a lot of time during browsing.
