have to restart my computer each time I want to print something

I have an iMAC OSX Lion 10.7.4, and a HP D110 Photosmart printer. When I first installed the printer, I had trouble with the scanner, but after I downloaded new software that supported Lion 10.7.4, it worked fine, wireless and all.

A few weeks ago, my internet provider changed my modem, since they upgraded us to optic fiber, and ever since, it's been a struggle. I was finally able to get the printer to work by reinstalling it, but it would not longer work wireless. Well, I could live with that. But I've realized that every time I want to print something, nothing happens unless I restart my computer. Then the printer works perfectly, right away. But two hours later, for another printing job, I need to restart again. I don't even get an error message.

HP has a diagnostic untility tool you can download, but it does not have a MAC version.

I've googled the problem, but haven't been able to find a MAC solution.

Help!
