Is there spell check in Bulgarian?

You need to download OpenOffice dictionaries to add languages:

I've tried the described method - downloaded (the corrected - UTF8) dictionary files (.aff , .dic) and put them in Library/Spelling. The language has been added as "Български (Library)", but I cannot get it working. I don't get any hint if I write (intentionally) incorrect word.

Any suggestion - to rename the .dic and .aff files, or I need another setting as well ...?

My system is:

MacBook Pro, 13", Early 2015

OS X El Capitan, 10.11.5

Have you also set the dictionary to that one in Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar, and in System Preferences/Keyboard/Text/Spelling? "Automatic" will not work with 3rd party dictionaries.

Tom, thanks for the suggestion, actually no.

But now setting that (and using Pages), it started to highlight all the words from other languages, e.g. English, as incorrect, and still nothing for Bulgarian. Since now at least there is some effect, maybe the dictionary files are not OK.

Thanks! I tried them myself and it doesn't seem to respond at all unless you type something with 10 characters or so. Perhaps something wrong with the files, will try to check....
