iWeb and Mountain Lion

Neither Cyberduck or my web server would let me upload the folder "Slideshow" or the nested folder "Images". On my server in the root level folder was a folder called Slideshow with an empty Images folder. So what I was able to do was upload the 18 images into the images folder. Don't know why I was able to upload the images but not the folders.

So at this point, I thought I would be able to see the Slideshow controls properly, but they are still broken.

I tried editing the iWPopUpSlideshow.js file, but seem to running into permission problems saving the edited file. (using both TextWrangler and Text Edit)

Just out of curiosity, since I have all 18 images uploaded to the Slideshow/Images Folder on the server, should the Slideshow control icons not be broken at this point, or not until the iWpopUpSlideshow.js file is edited.

average iweb users would mess up when they hack around in iweb and have no idea what is what and where is where

Slideshow is a common name! I named my folder "iWeb-slideshow-assets".

I always call my images folder "img" fo the same reason.

Get info on the JS file and change the permissions. You're the boss of your Mac so tell it what to do!

Hmmm, I don't use Cyberduck so I can't comment.

Yummy is a lot better and they now have a Lite version which only costs $1.99 from the app store.

It gives both the local and remote files in the same window and you can drag and drop from one to the other.

Check the port number in Cyberduck's setup window for your host server. Mine uses 21 or HostExcellence. You may have to call customer support and ask what port to use.

The HE file manager will do the job although it takes longer to get it open than an FTP app. Select FTP Manager and click the login icon.

Old Toad - Cyberduck Port is 21. I don't recall past issues with uploading, but all the files have been uploaded and the iWpopUpSlideshow.js file is edited and all is fine with my Slideshows thanks to you and Roddy.

Didn't see your other topic where you successfully got it working until after my last post here. Glad you got it working.

I agree about Cyclosaurus. I wasn't sure if his remarks were aimed at me, a mere user since iTools and HomePage, but I thought of inviting him to ask an question on my upholstery blog page about a furniture upholstery problem in which I would be happy to return the help. 😝

I think screwed is a little harsh. iWeb is still a good App even if it needs a little tweaking here and there. I could be compelled to switch if the right App came along. I'm not in a hurry because I think iWeb will remain relavent for a few to several more years.

I would agree with that. I think Sandvox is a waste of money and something better is bound to come along.
