Cannot remove Unknown User

Hi just noticed in (OS X Mountain Lion) System Preferences, Sharing, Screen Sharing: I have a 'Unknown User' and too 2 'Unknown User' in the Remote Login.

See screen shots... got any ideas? (note clicking "–" does not remove the "Unknown User" they are stuck, hence my posting)

thanks

Thanks, Macsimus13!

This helped me in 10.8.5:

Open System Pref Pane -> Users -> Login Options -> Join... (at the bottom) -> Open Directory Utility:

Choose Directory Editor Tab,

Viewing: Groups

Find "Screen Sharing ALC" at the left.

Then remove user id from "GroupMembers", don't forget to authenticate at the top.

Ok - thanks for the advice ... everyone. It is now 2014 ...mid-January [to be close to specific].

=> THERE IS NO SUCH FIX *at all capable* of doing what some of you claim [above] can be done according to your "advice."

So:

HERE IS THE REAL DEAL:

There is something very WRONG about ALL of this. Hopw many of you hae had these, for starters? I have been trying for 3 years to fix this sort of WEIRD occurances - following [wrong!!!!!!] instructions from Apple Inc. - plus, have any of you ever experienced, lately:

- Permissions changes for no reason

- UNKNOWN USER; can't delete THAT /THEM - an many other oddities

- 'Access Denied' to ME: the owner /admin of [any & all] of my very many differently - yet some very similarly configured Macs with this (or OTHER - but similar and very odd - behaviors)

- Start-up /login hangs from a 'regular Mac' sleep - or from a cold boot
- NO accurate solution after 2+ years of complaining to EVERYONE at Apple., Inc about any and all of these very serious problems

At this exact moment in time I am STILL trying /fighting (?) - and still losing with Apple /AppleCare Sr. Reps on this.

With respectintended:

Would - SOMEONE kindly put together a *non-complicated* and more detailed (read: an EXPLICIT) post /reply to ME, here, to FIX THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL - if there is really one to be uncovered, which I am beginning to think is a very suspicious lot of problems, and actually is *a cover-up.*

Period.

Thank you.

Michael, it sounds like many band-aid type fixes have been performed on your system for quite some time. I assume you have migrated data from more than a Mac or two at this point and there is likely lots wrong with all kinds of permissions and preference files. My honest suggestion is to to do a clean erase and install and move back only the files you need, reinstalling ALL applications. In fact to set your mind at ease about your machine you may want to consider running it "vanilla" for a while first. (Vanilla means running with no third-party applications or modifications.) I know this may not sound very helpful but it sounds like you have more problems than can be sanely tackled at this point and you will spend less time fixing it in this way. Make sure to back up your data to two different places before you erase your computer.

P.S. I am willing to continue to try and help you and perhaps we can chat or something but the conspiracy theory stuff needs to go. There is no cover up, and the majority of the permission based stuff occurs in other forms of BSD as well so Apple is not really always to blame when it comes to the frequency or complexity of these issues.
