What happen to Apple making quality OS's DVD's (Snow Leopard as an example). Looks like Apple really needs to reThink this whole operating system upgrade over the Internet thing. For many many people starting with Lion it's been an absolute disaster.

Maybe if enough people complain they will go back to DVD's (I mean USB thumb drives).

It's a real pain for so many people I really can't believe Mountain Lion is such a disaster beginning with the invalid code debacle. In fact I thought Lion to Mountain Lion would be the Leopard to Snow Leopard fix. I've had no problems, but I do my research, and have a test computer as a beta tester).

Many people are completely confused if anything goes wrong and don't have the luxury of a test machine.

If only Apple would make available the NEW operating systems on USB thumb drive the SAME time it's available to download (dreaming).

Just tring to help. Just got an idea......everybody go to the nearest Apple store for the OS download. That would stir the pot. 😁

I agree that there should be physical medium with the mountain lion purchase and I do honestly reckon give it a month and apple will release a USB thumb drive version of the installer as they did exact same thing last year with lion I remember quite well the first month I had lots of people coming to me with issues downloading lion and then they came out with the USB thumb drives and I had asked tech support during that first month whether there was plans for a release of the installer on a physical medium and was told there wouldn't be one for lion now mountain lion in its first week of release and I have only had half the amount of calls this week of that this time last year

(PS if anyone is reading this discussion before upgrading to mountain lion do a backup download the mountain lion installer create a USB thumb drive installer then use that to erase your hard drive then install mountain lion using the USB thumb drive then restore your time machine backup I have been telling everyone to do it this way and so far no installs have failed and only minimal issues have occurred after wards such as some apps are incompatible or some user preferences need to be corrected)
