Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Apple says I can open any Appleworks v6 word doc in Pages, but I can't!

From what I find in searches, many folks have Appleworks documents that they want to keep and use with the new software but can't.

I read in Mac World (Oct 2011) that if I went to the "get info" window and changed the appleworks word doc to "open with Pages" that the pages app would then open the document with no problem. I did that - but it will not. I am using Appleworks 6.2.9 and IWorks '06.

So I am seeking any ideas of ways to actually open the document without manually opening each and every doc in Appleworks to save in a changed file format to something another app (Word, Pages, etc.) will open.

Any ideas will be welcome!

Of course I have Rosetta installed, how else would I run AppleWorks 6 in Snow Leopard? As I said in my last reply in this thread, I was just trying to reproduce the issues others were having. I was able to reproduce the issue in Pages '06 in Snow Leopard, but not in Tiger. Same AppleWorks file, iWork '06 installed from the same source, only the OS was different.
