iPhone 4S cannot scan for wireless network since yesterday and i was using WiFi perfectly

So yesterday i was using iphone browsing internet, playing games, etc. And in the evening i unlock the iphone and didn't see the wifi status on the status bar. I click setting menu and it took around 30 seconds to open it, and i click wifi, the little ball keeps spinning but none of networks show up, i try to join the net work nanually, but when i click join, it says "Could not scan for wireless networks". At first i thought this is a hardware problem but when i look up my question on the internet a LOT of people appears have the same problem, and some of them said they did not had any wifi scan problems in ios 4 but after they upgrade to ios5 they had this problem.

My iPhone 4S is broght in April 2012, comes with ios5.1

I took my phone in to Verizon this afternoon with the same issue and they overnighted me one for free. Not really a solution but I'll glady take it as I have accumulated a few scratches.

I had this probelm as well. I made an appointment at the Apple store and they did their diagnostics and they gave me a new phone. I only had my iPhone for a couple of months when this happened. Since I got the new phown, I have not had any problems with Wi Fi. Make sure you back up your iPhone before you go to your cellphone carrier or Apple store.

Hi Daryl,

I've tried what you said, at first when I turned my phone on, my Wifi network showed up but did not take long and it was gone. :( Will try it one more and if nothing happens will go to apple store.

I requested phone replacement over apple support; they replaced it for free. Of course, covered by warranty

Simple fix: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

hey,Alcamp99. thanks for replying, but my problem was solved like months ago. I had quite a few experience with apple products and I definity tried that before, otherwise I would not be dumb enough to post this without trying the most obvious method.

After the problem returned, I took it to the Apple Store. Turns out my antenna was defective; got a replacement. So, if your problem recurs, I'd take it in before trying to reset it again. -Alan

You guys had me convinced I had to buy a new phone... I tried everything in this thread except that and still had the problem.

Then - I updated to iOS 7.0.2 - problem solved, and no new phone purchase necessary.

it seems to be a software issue then, congrats. and by replace we didnt mean to buy a new phone, apple has a replacement program for any inn warranty apple device with quality deflect.
