How can I find my hard drive size and availble size left on my late 2006 black model macbook

Select the Macintosh HD disk icon on the Desktop. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the upper pane you will find the drive's Capacity, Available, and Used space displayed.

Right click (Control + Click) on your hard drive icon and choose Get Info. Capacity = Total size of the hard drive. Available = Unused space on your hard drive. Used = Storage used on your hard drive.
Open Terminal and type "df -h"
