Kernel_task used up all cpu% when charging

I just upgrade my early 2011 15 inch MBP to mountain lion. I notice my Kernel_task will eat up all cpu% (no change on memory or threads count) when I charge. As soon as I unplug, it will come back to nromal. It might have sometime to do with the heat since it does not happend when I charge my computer in a cooler place or doing something light. Anyone else has that happen? I already did the clean install, reset PRRAM, SMC, repair disc and privilege etc.

Start you own thread to discuss your problem. If you expect to get any help, include details from either EtreCheck or Activity Monitor.

I am also having the problem with a slow mac after installing ML. I do not know too much of the mac system but i have found the following afte runing EtreCheck, can anyone tell me what this means and how to fix it.

Problem System Launch Agents:

[failed] com.apple.afpstat.plist

[failed] com.apple.mrt.uiagent.plist

I had the same problem since two days and it would also stop Finder from responding.

In your log I saw that you also have an iSCSI initiatior installed... that was the only change I did recently.

When looking into it, I saw that the iSCSI disk was still showing on the desktop, but unavailable (and with spinning wheel) and in the iSCSI settings, it said "disconnected" but also wouldn't let me reconnect as it seemed to be in some undetermined state....

I detached the iSCSI disk and for now this fixed it.

Hi,

I am in kind of the same situation and it is driving me crazy! Lately, the kernel task of my MB pro early 2011 goes over 300% and so it gets almost useless as it runs extremely slow. I took it several times to Madrid apple store, and hardware tests, again more hardaware test, format, cleaning its inside, and total reinstallation of the OSX were performed several times without success: they find nothing wrong but later at home it happens again and again. No more apps installed, new OSX... it can only be hardware, right?

It led to awkward questions and situations as it didnt ever happen when in the apple store, but only at home. Anyway, genius bar people incredibly nice.

I kept insisting, going back and finnally after reading these conversations here and explaining about it at the genius bar, they accepted to change the logic board for me. But sadly, it is happening again, and now i just dont know what else to do. If i take it back to the apple store, i dont know what else to say or explain, so far no problem has been found but it keeps happening. It is so frustrating!!! It is such a shame to have to stop using my Mac normally it is all more than perfect, but once the fan starts sounding loud, i know its back and no more use for a while.

Can anyone help me or give me any advice?? I would really really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance (and sorry for my english) 😉

My solution was to do with iSkysoft iTube studio.

The problem was a process called ADManager runinng at high CPU. Doing a bit of digging revealed it to be connected with the itube studio app. Simply quitting the process brought kernel_task down to 2% in about 3 seconds and the fans down to normal in 4...

Worth having a look in console.app and activity monitor to see if applications are stuck unable to do something they are supposed to...
