After installed ML Macbook Air 11" turns off by itself

Hi everyone... im from Argentina and i have a HUGE problem... my Macbook Air m/c 968 11" Late 2011 was working fine UNTIL I'VE INSTALLED MOUNTAIN LION, sice then, after a couple of minutes of using it GOES TO SLEEP automatically (even if you're typing, watching movies, or wathever you're doing). I have to wait a couple of seconds and then press the power button and it works again...

I'm desperate, what should i do???? 😟

Thanks for everyone!

Same problem here with my 2011 Macbook Air 13... Random turn-off at any battery level, even with every app turned off... After I have to press the power button and re-login...

I did a clean install of Mountain Lion this morning, only to be faced with the same issue...

Plus, I had some really strange battery behaviour yesterday: it would charge 2-3% of the battery, then become stuck and showing 20:00 hours charge time remaining (tried SMC reset 3 times with no result). Now it seems to charge ok... but we'll see...

Any solutions ? Should I send it in for service ?

Thanks !

I have the same issue. I took my 2012 MBA 11" into the Apple Store yesterday, they wiped my machine, re-installed mountain lion and tested it overnight: it worked fine. Brought it back home today, used it about 2 hours and now it is just starts and almost immediatley shuts off. I didn't have time with it to put any software on. This is not a conflict with extensions or anything like that. Disk passes utility check after each crash. Have checked console logs and the stop appears to happen at random.

I have another appointment at the Apple Store tomorrow morning.

BTW mine doesn't go to sleep, it is dead. To restart it I can reset the SMC or just unplug it and plug it back in, then it starts. Doesn't stay working on battery either. And have tried resetting the PRAM as well.

It's a shame really, in my case since i've installed Mountain Lion, my console repeats this Kernel message:

(default pager): [KERNEL]: ps_select_segment - send HI_WAT_ALERT

(default pager): [KERNEL]: ps_select_segment - send LO_WAT_ALERT

But, (in my case) since i'm not using google chrome, the message keeps appearing but the MBA doesn't freeze or turn it off...
