Hallo everybody,
as also martin from prague was reporting, download speed from apple is a desaster.
I started yesterday evening at 11 p.m. and it is still not there. It is not a matter of my isp (which is solid German Telekom 16Mbit) and provides in this very moment 700kB without problem from other sides, e.g. this forum.
But Mountain Lion is reportet from activity monitor of Snow Leopard to come in at 80kB/s.
That is less then 3.5" good old floppy disk!
The mirrors are insanely slow. Absolutely inacceptable after paying 18€ for a download.
So good look for everybody who needs do go through.
I will stop and restart the download, because seeing the blue bar is about 25% after overnight download is really frustrating.
I created a mountain lion stick with a new Mac Mini I have purchased, but this is not good enought to bring my old Mac Mini to Snow Leopard unfortunately, as of course the serial no is not matching.
Or simply offer as chosable option again a memory stick that comes with a new mac as it was in the past. Even DVD would be OK. Or enable use of newly created stick from new machine after App Store Check on that Apple ID also to set up other machines.
I am acting as a multiplier for Mac (I currently replace all old XP machines in my wider family with Macs as I do not want to support XP any longer) but this really slows me down significantly. A pity.
Dear Apple,
as long as there are no media available for purchase - please work on your mountain lion download servers urgently. A windows 8 download I tried a weeks ago did run through over night without problems.
