Radio Favorites Stop Working

Over the past few months I've experienced an occasional failure of a radio favorite. I'd merely go to the main listing of radio stations and drag a new copy of the station to my Radio Favorites playlist. I'd not had this problem until then but since it only happened now and then with one station or another, I didn't think much of it.

Well, today I've discovered ALL my radio favorites have quit working. The problem has now become massive since I have about 40 to 50 favorites and have little interest in searching for each and every one again, especially if this is going to happen again.

Am I the only one having this problem?

Yes, I'm running the latest software.

I'm having the same problem. All of my iTunes Radio-based favorites stations stopped playing at around 6 PM Central Time. What's weird is that only the favorites I've created by dragging them from the iTunes Radio feature into my playlist stopped playing—radio streams that I've copied manually into iTunes work fine.

The broken ones are still not playing as of midnight. The problem, again, is only with iTunes Radio stations, not ones I've copied in. I think it might relate to the server Apple's using to link to the stations; all of the iTunes-based stations live at < http://pri.kts-af.net/redir/index.pls?… > and I suspect that perhaps this redirection service is what's causing the problem. With streams that connect directly to a streaming radio server, the problem doesn't occur.

When I try to play one of the iTunes-based stations, I simply get an error beep and it fails to play. I'm running the latest version of iTunes on Mac OS X 10.6.8.

Yes, if I re-add a station to a playlist, directly from the Radio category, it adds the station with a URL that points directly to the station's stream. All my old radio favorites link to that pri.kts-af.net URL (see last post), which seems not to be working. The whois for this URL indicates that it's owned by Apple, and when opened in a browser, it redirects to the iTunes homepage.

Re-adding the stations directly from the Radio category seems to be one solution. Either Apple has updated all their radio listings to point directly to the streams, or perhaps something happened in our iTunes libraries that somehow jumbled the URLs for our radio favorites?

I think what's more likely, though, is that Apple has gotten rid of the pri.kts-af.net redirection service, or it's temporarily offline. I suspect that the only other solution would be to wait for Apple to fix it.
