safari 6.0 crash when right clicking a link and choosing open in new tab

Hi all, just a general question. I admit i did not search the forums yet. Hopefully this little annoyance can be resolved.

When using safari on say CNN.COM i'll right click on a link and choose Open in new tab. safari randomly disappears. no crash warnings, just gone. I can open it right up and be fine sometimes all day. This has happened to me about 5x since ML was released (i wiped my laptop the day it came out)

This has happened on a couple of different website at different times of the day. only safari was running. No other apple apps have this issue.

I have a MacBook Pro from earily '08 type 4,1

i have only apple software on this machine

i do have adobe flash installed v11.3 updated today.

i do have lastpass enabled

i do have ad-block disabled

While i'm waiting for help from you guys i'll disable all addon's and try to remove adobe to see if that is the issue. Is there any other steps i can try like delete .plist file or maybe even trying a new user profile. I am a IT professional and am not afraid to get my hands dirty trying to get this resovlved.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. i'll search the forums too and if i see a similar post i'll remove this one.

Same thing here. Safari unexpectedly quits (no crash report generated) and in the system logs I always see the entry #date #time Safari[####]: Received an invalid message from the web process with message ID 323002f shortly before Safari simply disappears.

Installed extensions:

1password 3.9.8

Evernote Web Clipper 5.7

Pocket 1.1.2

(I did use ClickToFlash but uninstalled it a while back.)

Installed plugins:

Adobe Flash 11.4.402.265 (latest version)

It would be really interesting to see exactly which plugins everyone are using when they have these issues.

Same issue here, too. 2011 MacBook Air running Safari 6.0.1 on ML and a 2008 Mac Pro running Lion also running 6.0.1. Safari quits when right-clicking and selecting open page in new tab. When I re-launch the app, all prior tabs open despite having the prefs set not to. When quitting and re-opening normally, everything behaves normally.

The error is present even when disabling extensions.

Really? Which versions of the OS and of Safari? I'm using Lion and Mountain Lion and Safari 6.0.1 on a Mac Pro and Macbook Air, respectively. The problem occurs on the both machines.

Safari crashed on me twice today on the MBA using CMD-click to open a link in a new tab, so it sounds like your workaround either works only with your specific setup, or you just haven't hit the random-link lottery yet.

Yep same issue here. 2008 MacBook Pro. Never used to be an issue though. Can confirm that I can cmd click to open a link in a new tab without issue. That same link will crash safari if I try the right click open route. Annoying to say the least. Posting to apple feedback.

Update: Since I am working on a freshly installed and updated version of mountain lion I didnt think to go and check safari extensions as I havent installed anything, only to find an extension called searchme. Seems this may have come with the last update (have yet to confirm this) however once I unistalled the extension my right-click open in tab now works again!

Hope this helps someone else. Let us know if it does.
