Hi All,
when update all my apps on my mac i get always following errror message during the update "(NSURLErrorDomain-Error -1100.)".
it worked for me too...thank you.
I'm having the same issue with the App Store. This is annoying.
Same issue here, adding the suggested DNS didn't worked, but it's obvious that this error depends on yesterdays event and Apples background work as well as the high access on the App Store to check for updates and stuff.
DNS fix worked for me 😕...got evernote update, i installed itunes update manually
Updated Evernote without using the DNS fix. Error-1100 still existing, probably an iTunes update reason. Do you still have the error after updating iTunes manually?
Me too. Evernote updated automatically with the error proudly displaying over the top. iTunes must be screwed up. No big deal, really, until next week, when IOS6 comes out.
Updating iTunes manually was a breeze.
Manual update was a breeze for me, too. Weird. You just don't expect glitches like this from Apple....
I received that exact error just minutes ago. I was checking there has been rumors of an 8.2 update.
I can't find any way to report apple.
Is it Possible the plist file has nee corrupted?
No way for me.
I can do no update: itunes, imovie.. Nothing at all😠
I tried removing the com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist to the trash, still got the "The operation couldn't be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1100.)" error. If it is corrupted on some people's machines, it wasn't on mine. I also tried putting Google's DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. and still the same error. I used CleanMyMac and removed all of AppStores cache and no joy.
Hi guys, i had the same problem till few minutes ago when i try to flush DNS cache to resolve the problem and it works for me!!! How to do this? It's simple:
Open terminal and copy and paste this command
sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
It will ask your password, insert it and press enter, that's all!
I've followed all of the tips int his thread and still cannot resolve the problem on my 27" i7 iMac running Mountain Lion.
Given the timing and number of people having this issue, I beleive that it is something in one of Apple's data centers causing this problem. I'm posting what I've tried in hopes that an Apple engineer reads this and it helps them understand this is a real problem for quite a number of users.
Also, we could also use a much better error message then letting the raw error codes get displayed to users. I've seen error codes -1100, -1102 and perhaps evern -1101.
DNS Servers:
I was already using Google's DNS servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, as well as my own local cacheing DNS server. I first removed my cacheing one and cleared the DNS cache using 'sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder'. I then restarted and still recieved the error. Then I removed the Google DNS servers and used my ISP's (TimeWarner Cable in Wisconsin) DNS servers, cleared the cache and restarted and still the same problem. Given the fact that using new DNS servers solves the problems for some, it looks like the problem might be caused by a TTL that was set too long, or perhaps midstream dns cacheing servers not honoring TTLs. Though given the fact that I've not been able to find any that work for me, this theory might not be accurate.
Evernote Update:
I noticed one user who did recieve an Evernote update. I was getting the error for at least most of yesterday and did at one point today receive the Evernote update, upgraded it and then I recieved the error message. I would assume that this means that the problem did not happen for me on at least one search for updates. But the errors did happen right after that, so the problem is cleary still there.
Apple Support:
I emailed Apple support yesterday and the response I recieved back was that I should call in the support line which I did and was informed at Apple wanted me to charge me $50, even thought I pointed the tech to this thread showing many, many other people having this same problem. The tech I spoke with was unaware of any such problem, but appeared to take interest in what I was telling him, especially given the number of new reports of the problem today and yesterday. He did suggest deleting the user plists for the AppStore.
PLISTs:
I have deleted all of the following PLISTS, but this has not solved my problem, even after restarts and further DNS cache clearing:
/Usesr/<my username>/Library/Prefereces/com.apple.appstore.plist
/Usesr/<my username>/Library/Prefereces/com.apple.appstore.plist.lockfile
/Usesr/<my username>/Library/Prefereces/com.apple.softwareupdate.plist (which hasn't returned)
iTunes 10.7:
Some users are reporting that they can successfully update iTunes 10.7 manually. I was able to do this as well, but still recieve this error after the update is complete, so I do not believe that the error we're all seeing is related to that file...course it could be resulting from the server load of others getting the file.
I cured my Appstore problem by:
Removing all the com.apple.appstore.plist files.
I used a utility called EasyFind to locate all such file,
One I actually to to go directly to that file and use username and password to move to trash.
I few minutes befor I did this I received the error code.
Using the disk utility and repairing disk permissions fixed it for me. Weird.
