Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

How do I create a Launchpad folder for a single item?

Some items that came with a few apps have their own folder in Launchpad - "AppName (Other)".

Is there a way to create a folder in Launchpad with a single item?

I tried dragging one item to another and got a folder but as soon as I removed one of the items, the folder disappeared too.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Barry

Hi Lex,

I don't understand either.

With you last post, I thought perhaps I should try more than two items in the folder.

I tried three and I tried four, in each case closing Launchpad, opening it and clicking on the folder before I started removing any items.

When there are two left in the folder and I move one out, the folder goes away and both are "single".

A mystery - especially since it appears to be working for you.

Best regards,

Barry

So how come this was never answered? I would really like to know how to create several folders in Launchpad so that I may (further) organize my applications in there. For example, I want to be able to put Game Center & Angry Birds into a "User created folder" labeled "Games". Another instance would be "Organizing Tools" where I would put my Calender and Organizing Materials in.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Trevor

THIS WORKS:

After trials and tribulations, I did this by accident. Pick the app you want in it's own folder. Install some small, random app, and make a folder with your chosen app. Now you have two apps in said folder. Now uninstall that random app. The random app will be gone but the folder and original app you want will remain.
