are you forcing your customer to buy a brand new iMac in order to keep working???
It is pretty much the same strategy Microsoft adopted in the past 20 year

something similar happened to me after i did a new back up and tried to re install ML (it didn't allowed me to do it reporting me an error - i fixed another appointment at my city's genius bar)... now it's much more better than before also if the battery swings from almost 8 hours left with a full charge to 3.50 with a litlle bit less that full. i'll keep it monitored..

i'm crossing my finger that ML 10.8.2 will fix this and improve battery health, as i believe that it's impossible that apple could fail in such a big way.. 😉
