iphone thinks headphones are plugged in even when not - how to fix
iPhone 4, Windows XP
I've been trying to get this issue fixed on my iPhone 6 almost all day. I never use headphones and my phone has never had any water or physical damage. I tried SO MANY things and what finally worked for me was this.. HOLD DOWN THE VOLUME UP AND DOWN BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME, WHILE STILL HOLDING THESE DO A HARD RESET. SO ALL THE STEPS YOU WILL DO AT THE SAME TIME ARE HOLD DOWN THE VOLUME UP AND DOWN BUTTONS WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE HOME BUTTON AS WELL AS THE BUTTON ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR PHONE. ONCE YOU SEE THE WHITE SCREEN WITH THE APPLE YOU CAN LET GO OF ALL BUTTONS. THIS SHOULD FIX THE ISSUE! I really hope this saves someone a lot of the hassle I've been through!!
I know this sounds weird. It works though I put my mouth over it and sucked a Lil bit and I cleaned it first with a cue-tip then I did the other thing and that work for realz idk y

This just worked for me. I had done a hard reset a few times and tried s few other things but nothing was working. Then I saw this one tried it and it worked.

This worked for me!!! It didn't at first but after I restarted the iPhone the sound worked as usual! Thank you.
All I did to fix it was left my headphones in my phone on accident but it fixed it the next day

I tried to insert things and dislodge the bad but nothing worked!! Eventually I sucked the jack really hard and it worked instantly!!
Thought would try this first before a trying to find something suitable to stick in the headphone jack..after a couple attempts it worked so thanks!! 👍-1F3FD;👏-1F3FD;
This happened to me and I took the end of a q-tip off and pushed the flat end of the q-tip into the jack about 10 times and it started working normally again!
I tried your trick and it worked!! Thank god I just saved $80!!!
