Voice memo crashing on iphone & sync session failing

This is an extremely late reply, but hopefully it'll help someone in the future

This exact problem arose for me after OTA updating my (Vannila) iPhone 5 to 6.1.4

After a bit of fiddling I did this:

1. Downloaded & Installed iFunbox

2. Opened iFunbox and Selected my iPhone & Clicked the little - next to it so it will expand hierarchy

3. Selected 'Voice Memo' from the list

4. Scroll to the bottom (If you currently don't have any memos it will just be at the top)

5. Drag Recordings.db to your desktop

6. Delete Recordings.db from your phone

7. Open iTunes & Sync your Phone

After sync, If all goes according to plan, you can simply unlock your phone and select VoiceMemos and it should work beautifully.

I'm assuming the deleted Recordings.db is rebuilt by iTunes when you Sync your phone, thus resolving any corrupted data issues.

I need some guidance on how to get 2011 voice memos off the 3gs - we've been working on this for a few eveings with support on the phone - but cant find any soluntion to getting them off - Ive shortened the oldest one -still nothing works to back them up to itunes - I need to know how to get a copy of the 100's of 2011 2012 voice memos off the 3g I own and its now showing hardly any room on it - since trying to since the voice memos off it.

Can someone recommend a free complete app to use - to get just the info off this thing - so frustrated with keeping the iphone advance tech on the line so many nights of trying to back them up.

Any help is appreciated greatly - very frustrated

this iphone is turning off when a call comes in -goes black in screen reboots ? then after logging in if fast enough the call goes to voice mail

very hot battery - when not plugged in and at times when plugged in

noticed the silver edge is lifting away from being secure -secure it with ?

noticed it will not charge with iphone plug into wall

it will charge with plug *one of many purchased to replace original into laptop

it will charge if I plug it into blackberry black wall plug

it suddenly turns off in middle of twitter app

wont back up voice memos

Voice memos needed of elderly person and legal info - there must be some way of retrieving them

Does your computer/iTunes detect your 3GS when connected

Install & Open it

Connect your phone

After a few moments iFunbox will detect your phone, and in the corner you should be able to select "Voice Memos" and simply create a folder on your desktop and select all and drag them and they should copy over.

Thank You sooooo much!!! You literally just saved me hours of studying. I lost half of the lectures i recorded and was able to recover it all using iFunBox. Best part is i had over 100 voice memos I didn't know aboout and was able to delete them all and free up sooo much space. Thanks again. 🙂
