Whats the very best quality you can get from exporting from iMovie...my filming is on a mini dv camera...whats best to export it to get best playback quality on a dvd? i dont understand the compression and codecs...lesley

Joining this a bit late but just trying to avoid some confusion on my part.
You mention that you have recorded on mini DV tape. Is this recording done in DV format or HDV format ? The reason I am asking is because two weeks previously you were asking about using iDVD for burning HD material in your question about producing wedding videos.The advice given here may depend on which format you have recorded in.

Does this mean if I import unedited events from imovie07 into FCP I will have no loss of quality?
Or do I need to reload all my files again off the orignal dv tape?

A. I don't know - I have not tested in 100%. One get material over but if every line is there is to be investigated.
B. As I understands it - Importing to iMovie Event's is said to keep 100% - but when moving to Project the every second line is lost - due to ability to keep speed in the editing process.
