does Retina MacBook Pro HDMI port support 2560x1440

I want to buy a HDMI equipped monitor with resolution of 2560x1440 and connect it to my Retina MacBook Pro.

Can the HDMI port output this resolution or does it only support 1920x1080?

evolross,

wanted to know what exact cable you got from Amazon?

I wanted to run three screens at 2560x1440.

Looks like I can run two from the Thunderbolt/MiniDisplay Port to my AsusPB278.

I just need the right cable.

You said yours was $7.99 on amazon, can you send me a link to the exact cable you got?

The one I found is this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00C7RM2TG/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=electron ics

... and it says res is 1920 x 1080 (which is lame).

Thanks for your help

Also, if you got a specific cable to run a ASUS PB278 at 2560x1440, help a borhter out with another link.

Many Thanks,
Brian

Hello.

I'm new user of MacBook Pro 15' Retina.

I want to connected MacBook to my 27 inch monitor LG27EA83 with native resolution 2560x1440. I have bought mini displayport to displayport 1.1a cable and connected it. Resolution works, but quality is very low. Fonts are sharp and ugly. Screen: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23361883/macbook_monitor_2560x1440.png

When I look at this screen on my macbook, it looks quite ok, but on monitor quality is terrible.

If I but mini displayport to displayport 1.2 cable, it could help? Dual link DVI adapter is very expensive.

Could you help me?

I'm sorry for my english.

Best regards.
