Straight move with keyframes?

Okay, I give up. Please help.

I am trying to get a graphic to move in a continuous LINEAR motion across the screen. No ramping up, no ramping down, no cute little S-curve flow path....Setting keypoints at the beginning and end of the move causes FCPX to default to some kind of weird (supposedly helpful) ramping and decidedly NOT straight moves near the beginning and the end of the slide.

I have control clicked the keyframes and chose Linear (as opposed to the default "Smooth". I have tried everything to get FCPX to quit getting in my way and let me do a good old fashion abrupt start and stop along a linear line with no ramp up or down.

Anyway, I MUST be missing something... but right now I'm just frustrated that this simple task has taken so much of my time.

Help.

While this thread has been up for a while, I found the information helpful and it solved my problem. This is one of those little bugs that is so unsusual I thought I would put together a little video tutorial to demonstrate the issue and how the "fix" is applied. Here is the link to my blog post about it. http://http://www.accularian.com/Subjects/Macintosh/final-cut-pro-linear-key-fra me-problem/ I hope it is helpful to some one else.

I just keep clicking the add keyframe button until I see no more jumping in the viewer window. I have found that I may need to move the play head a bit and repeat the process. I may move the playhead several times just to be sure, but it works.

I can image this will be a non-issue in a future release but for now, it's the work around.
