cant use facebook videocall on mountain lion

Same Problem ( Clean Install Mountan Lion {10.8.2}) and I`m still having the *******-i-n-g *******-i-n-g same problem.

It reminds me of iOS maps 6.

 Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera same problem.

 In Parallels, VirtualBox (Windows 7) works fine.

 The problem is with *******-i-n-g facebook?.

 Java, Flash up to date.

 What the *******-i-n-g **** are they waiting for fix.

 Fix Please. 🙂

I've installed the supplemental 10.8.2 update, Java 7 (losing Chrome functionality) and integrated Facebook and the system software. No change.

Other users of Mountain Lion I've chatted with say they have no problem with video calling. What is it we all have in common?

My 11" MacAir works fine; my 13" MacAir has this same problem. Identical software.

i can not believe there is no fix yet mba 13 inch

I see a Java 1.6.0_37 update from Apple, but already installed the Oracle 7 one. Any feedback about whether this will help with video calling. I can disable Oracle's if it does.

Oh, I now see it disables Apple's Java and forces you to download Oracle's which means no more Chrome. It's prompted me to update to version 9 so let me make a videocall and report back.

Hi all, I have the same problem, scenario:

with my macbook 13' I have installed version FacebookVideoCalling_v1.6.jar but when establish connection with the user in the large box only see my still picture (freezing), i can listen sound but i can't see a user video.

P: 2,8 GHz Intel Core i7

M: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

G: Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

Software OS X 10.8.2 (12C60)

B: safari V. 6.0.1 (8536.26.14)

I have the same problem. Tried to unsinstall the video call plugin with a manual I found on the official Facebook help site but the files I was supposed to delete weren't actually were the manual said they should be. I think Facebook has to update this.

Files in the library are hidden, jahhillebrand. You have to hold down Option when you click the Go menu in the Finder. At any rate, reinstalling the same old 1.6 jar file won't solve your problem. And I guess Zuckerberg & co are focused on mobile, mobile, mobile, and yes even more mobile. They deleted the thread like this one on Facebook.

I'm thinking it's an Apple issue. Seems to only affect 13" Macbook Airs. My 11" and 13" have identical software but only the 11" works correctly. It started when I upgraded to Mountain Lion. So I downgraded the OS and it was working fine again. But then an update came along and then Lion had the same problem. Apple--please tell us when you will have a fix.

CAN OTHER POSTERS CONFIRM WHETHER WE ARE ALL USING 13" MACHINES? I KNOW SOME OF US ARE USING PROS AND SOME AIRS.

My only other theory is that it's the government eavesdropping software that's the problem.
