cant use facebook videocall on mountain lion

i have a MacBookPro8,1 13" 2011.

i have the same issue, all was working fine with 10.6.X

since i have upgrated to 10.8, facebook video caling no more working.

i tried a fresh install, but did not change anything..

what does apple waiting since +6 months??

OK - here's the dealio bubbuhz... Apple is busy working many different areas - and OS/X problems are one of them... they are also working on the next versions of OS/X, IOS, Iphone, Ipad, Macbookz, AppleTV/ITV, etc, etc, etc... I agree that it would be SUPER helpful/nice to have this FACEBOOK video feature work, and those that have said that only Apple users are able to use FACETIME are correct... however, that said, there is always SKYPE video calls - and that works between Apple and Windows and Linux users... so it isn't like there isn't a temporay workaround out there... so I agree with youALL that a fix would be superNICE, but I don't dis Apple for not fixing this one problem... and I think that they will eventually fix it - just not soon enough to make all of us happy campers... and for those that can't wait - there is always the new Microsoft Surface Pro, if you don't mind not so good battery life and a somewhat heavy device...

Please don't make excuses for apple's pathetic lack of competence.

Coincidently my Skype just stopped working. I can see them, but they can't see me.

So, now, Facetime is the only thing properly working.

Ok guys, I found a solution. Well at least it worked for me.
I just went to System Preferences > Security & Privacy. Then I unlocked the little lock located at the corner. And where it says "Allow applications downloaded from:", you just choose "Anywhere". Then you can proceed with the download of the video chat app in facebook.com normaly, it will work. After you're done doing this, you can set it back up to "Mac App Store and identified developers", at least, I did it.

Still not working for me. Followed Nicolas de Sousa's method, but my setting w as already on "Anywhere." Don't know why Apple hasn't come up with a fix yet...
