cant use facebook videocall on mountain lion

We are all being secretly surveilled by the government and their spying software causes this. This is why Apple has not responded. And Facebook deleted their thread months ago.

I hate that I always need to move to windows to make facebook video chat sessions =(

Same problem here on a late 2011 Macbook Pro with Mountain Lion OS/X V 10.8.2. Just installed the FB video app and I see what everybody else is seeing - I see myself and it gets choppy/sloppy but I don't see the other person. The other person tells me they see me. Frustrating. Maybe it's a FB problem and not a Mac problem, and FB is the side that needs to correct it? Either way, hopefully it will be rectified soon.

I got this problem since October 2012 when apple upgrade the OS. I called Apple support and said the problem is not on their side. There is no problem on face time only on facebook video chat. This is an indication that apple is forcing us to get more apple product to use the video chat. Hey this is my last apple product.$$$$#$.

I don't think it is that Apple doesn't care, and in a way they probably don't care that much about this one problem. Afterall, if you want to use video teleconferencing Apple would probably much prefer you to use FACETIME. But still, wish the problem were fixed - seems like a nice extra added bonus with FACEBOOK communications.

You can stop buying Apple products. I hear the Microsoft surface pro is pretty slick if you don't mind the rather short battery life and the hefty weight. I appreciate Microsoft and use it at work, but I still prefer Apple products at home (after using MIcrosoft Windows at home for several years). They usually provide a smooth, suave, computing environment. I ABSOLUTELY HATE my LG G2X Android piece of sh## phone. Cheaped out and didn't go for the iphone experience a year ago, and most of the time with my LG I wish I had an Iphone. Yeah, the newer Android phones are finally beefy enough compute-wise to support a newer/better Android and maybe that would be a decent enough phone experience... But I am still a HUGE Apple fan, despite this small FACEBOOK video glitch...

I woudn't mind using Facetime as long as ALL MY FRIENDS could use it as well, which is clearly not the case...

My complaint is the lack of response. They could say "we can't reproduce the problem" or "it will be with release xx.xx" or ANYTHING but it's insulting they don't have any response.

There is no problem using Facetime, except it only works with apple to apple products. Apple doesn't care about this problem because they are forcing everybody to get apple product to use video chat. I did not see any reply from Apple except :the problem is not on our side"..

Same, same, and same here. The frustration is that not all friends can do face time and there are times on facebook when I want to see a friend but it isn't appropriate to talk, so we type. Fix the problem, please.
