My iBook needs to re-open at the beginning each time it is closed rather than opening where the reader left off. I am creating a virtual tour of a campus and it is so frustrating that I cannot open the book from the shelf at the beginning. thanks, dk

You can't force it....the default navigation that Apple affords all users via iBooks is such that unless they voluntarily and manually navigate back to the start of a book when they quit means it's just something iBA authors need to live with.
You may want to switch to an app instead, but be aware that the app store review teams are pushing devs to make books if they consider the contents so directed.
Good luck in any case and note this isn't something an HTML widget can cure, sorry.
