Can I publish an iBook to a specific audience. For example within my company, and that it is not accessible to other people because it is confidential?
Selective publishing with iBooks

Selective publishing with iBooks

Yes. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5071?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Share/Export as an .ibooks file from iBA, then put your (free) book on your site where your target users can download.

Thanks Ken,
So if I understand correctly I don't publish it, but just the export of the file? That file can be placed on e.g. an intranet/unique dropbox location.
You don't know of a solution where you publish it and make it available to a specific audience via codes or something?
Jeroen
An iBooks Author files ends in: .iba
An iBooks file that you export from iBooks Author ends in: .ibooks
Again, Share/Export an .ibooks file and put that on your server.
You can control who gets it using a logon to your server if you like. How you distribute it from there is your choice of security, access code, whatever.
Don't use the 'Publish' menu unless you want to upload to the store.

No, the iBookstore does not do that.
