The interface for YouTube on Safari (iPad 3rd gen) changed from the default to some ugly-looking interface

The interface for YouTube on Safari (iPad 3rd gen 32gb WiFi, iOS 5.1.1) changed from the default video player to some ugly-looking interface, and I didn't do anything to cause this. How do I get it back?

I restored 3 times already. Still no luck. My friend's iPad doesn't seem to have this problem. I even called apple and said they're not getting this problem, and don't know what to suggest to me.

Is anyone else having this issue?

When I click the full-screen icon, it fills up the browser but the search bar still shows. definitely not the same as it was before. Really annoying.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

I don't know what else to tell you. It worked for me when I set it to the desktop version and it shows the Videos in full screen more and totally eliminates the Safari toolbar.

This is just a random video that I chose to play in YouTube about sea monsters .... Creatures of the deep. See if this will play for you in Safari.
