Yesterday, for the first time ever, my most recently created note just vanished! I've been working on it for three days, it's highly technical (I'm an electronics guy) and I can’t just simply 'recreate it'. My iPad 2 (iOS 7.2) is an integral part of my life and I rely heavily on the notes app. I don't have a Mac or any other Apple products and after reading through most of this thread, have yet to find a way to permanently recover this last note. For the record, I did backup the iPad only hours before this happened - I needed to get some downloaded pdf datasheets on to my PC, otherwise my last backup would have been more than a month old. So I did a manual restore and the missing note reappeared.....for a while. I saw it, thought, great! , then did some online work and a few hours later went back to it only to find it had disappeared again! I've tried signing into iCloud using my PC - I basically get a visualization of my iPad, complete with notes and email apps, but that last file is still missing. This has really shaken my confidence in the notes app. It seems also that when Apple break something (I learned this the hard way when I updated my OS from 6x to 7x) they don't ever go back and fix it. For this reason I never update anything, and that's now part of the mystery. As nothing has changed OS wise for at least the last 3 years, why is this suddenly happening now? I also don't update my apps so theoretically my system is the same today as it was yesterday, last week, last year.... with the exception of newly added notes, email, pdfs etc. I usually even go to the lengths of physically disconneting the network cable when I do sync my iPad with the PC, so I can't have updates 'forced' on me. Sadly, it seems the only solution now is to ditch the app and install another one. And this may no longer be possible because it will probably require OS 8 or later.
