ical birthday calendar wrong dates

Hello,

I have an issue with iCal regarding the birthday calendar.

It works pretty fine syncing with address book, but it ads the birthday obviously twice. The birthday itself and the day before the birthday. When refering the URL in iCal it directs me to the Contact card of the person and there is only the correct date.

Why does iCal do that? And more important, how can I solve that problem and remove all the wrong dates? Because it is anoying to have birthday reminders for people twice. It also looks pretty dumm in the notification center of Mountain Lion. With two birthdays of the same person in a row. Mostly it has one year difference as well, so the same person turns lets say 29 the one day and 30 the other.

Any ideas?

Hi again

I just happened to be logged on to iCloud and noticed in the calendar there that there was only one entry for the birthday in question. So the problem seems to lie in the Calendar application in Mountain Lion.

Probably, after deleting that item in iCloud will solve the problem.

Apple has a bug in its ical/calendar syncing software.

I am running OSX 10.8.5. My contacts and calendars are synced through icloud. System date is automatic to local time (NZ) and calendar time is also NZ time.

To help Apple resolve the date syncing problem I have discovered that if I set a birthday date in a contacts card to 1989 or later, Calendar will show the birthday one day early. If I set the birthday to 1988 or earlier in contacts, the day shows correctly in Calendar.

Anyone have a syncing feeling???

Interstingly, the problem seems to be solved in IOS7. Both my iphone and ipad show the dates correctly in the calendar.

Hopefully Mavericks will fix the problem in OSX...

But what is really weird is that this problem (birthdays before 1989 from Contacts being displayed a day early in Calendar) is evident on my older MacPro 3,1 and also on my newer Macmini 5,2, but the dates are being displayed correctly on my MacBookPro 7,1. ????

Same OS, same date and sync settings (as far as I can see), all use icloud for same contacts and calendars.....

Sometimes it is caused by Login Items.

Just try to start your MacPro and MacMini without any Login Items.
