I'm in the same spot. Very frustrating and surprising that this is coming apple.
I tried setting the date ahead 1 year...but no luck. The I tried setting the date ahead 1 month and bingo! It works....weird.
Wow, strangest thing...but worked for me too! Thanks...crazy that after all other things, including resetting date to random dates, that changing to one month did it.

After trying everything else on this thread I finally changed the date to exactly one month and it worked!
For me , I just Updated the IOS to the last version and the problems stopped.
For me, Apple Store it´s working - I am using version 6.1 in my Iphone 4S and 6.1.3 in my Ipad 2
If you bought a new device, it´s better to use Itunes and apply the IOS update.

This just worked for me. I had tried everything including the date fix and nothing. so then i went into settings and then reset all settings. nothing gets deleted but basically just makes it factory new without a restore. after reconnecting to my wifi now i have no issues 🙂
had the same problem for the whole night til i tried this and it worked for me -> go to settings - general - reset (bottom of page) - reset network settings - OK

Ok.....left my ipad out of frustration..... It's morning andit's randomly working again. This has happened to me twice.
Guys, I've tried every suggestion in this and other forums on my iPad 2 and still nothing, I always get the dreaded message.
Apple helpline have said that its due to the iPad having been down graded with some sort of jail break, which is rubbish, only apple provided software and os been used and always via iTunes.(wouldn't even know or want where to get, use jjailbreak)
I now have an very expensive device which can only access Internet but cannot do anything else. And no support from the manufacture.
I'm gutted, there must be something to do? Someone at Apple that has a spence of customer service.
Hi, I did what you proposed but it didn't work. Then I tried to sign-in again using the same apple ID and it worked fine! Thanks for the hint though!
My ipad3 is unable to download any app from the store. Once i click "install", it does not ask for the apple ID password. But later on, it says "cannot connect to itunes store". I tried the date trick but it didn't work. Does anybody else have the same problem? Can anybody help me fix this problem?
