Hello,
I recently bought a MBA and would like to get a case. I found the two I like: one is a hard case see-thru shell for the actual laptop and the other is a bag to put the laptop in. Does anyone know if these two will work together or should I get a 14-15" bag to put laptop in when traveling.

Some bags sized for the Air will work with a shell on your machine, and some won't. All you can do is ask the manufacturer of the bag for which you are interested.
I find that with my shell, I tend to just opt for bags designed for the 13" MacBook Pro. Not only does it afford thickness room for the shell, but it generally means the additional pockets, that are on the front or back, are not so stressed when I use them for bulky items such as the power adapter. You definitely don't want to stress pockets on a tight fitting case. It will tend to put an almost pre-load pressure on the Air's case, inviting a hit that might then crack the screen.
Thank you for the info. I didn't think about getting a MBP bag to make up for the hard case. I looked for a while and decided on the STM bag on Apple's site (which is for a MBP or MBA). There was just too many options and I was getting frustrated. I'm happy with what I got and the reviews seem to be positive. This is my first one so in time I will learn what to look for as I upgrade.

I'm happy with my purchases but I'm sure I'll learn what to look for when I use it for a while. It was tough deciding because I like many of the ones I saw and they each had something I liked and disliked.
