Trying to system software but get following error message "The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1012.)(-1012)

I am having the same problem.I have tired rebooting my mac but it makes no difference. Has anybody got any idea as to resolve this or is it a case of wait and see.

Getting the same error as well when I run the Software Update option:

(NSURLErrorDomain error -1100.)

Same here on my Macbook Pro and on my Mac at work.

This problem, "The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1100.)", just started for me on Wed. night after the Apple announcements. Help appreciated!

LOTS of people are receiving this error (including myself). It probably has nothing to do with your computer at all but the fact that Apple's servers probably weren't prepared for the massive numbers of attemped updates. DNS fixes have been posted, but these don't work for me. Unfortunately, probably the best solution is either to wait or, if you're looking for the update to iTunes, go to: http://support.apple.com/downloads/ where you can find the latest software. After downloading the latest version of iTunes, mine was listed as being the latest version.

same here! The error depends on yesterdays events and background appstore work by apple, I guess.

I am getting this on both my iMac and my Retina Macbook. Tried rebooting the Mac and rebooting the router, no change, still doesn't work.

This is not related to their servers but to a bug on 10.8.1. I spent one hour with apple support. we tried everything:

1) repair disk permissions

2) boot in safe mode

3) clear up iTunes, Safari and apply sync cache, and repair disk permissions again

nothing worked. Then we went for the easy fix which is to reinstall Mountain Lion.

Turn off iMac

turn it on while pressing COMMAND-R

select from the options to "reinstall OS"

problem is fixed
