Can MacBook Pro's get viruses from Microsoft Office?
I know Macs cannot get viruses in general but if Microsoft Office for Mac is bought can viruses be attained through it?

The statement stands. OS X is still immune to viruses (virii for the Grammar Police). The applications are not under that umbrella. Just remember the past Flash and Java circuses.
Of course, that offers little joy to the poor unfortunate whose computer got royally screwed, irrespective of which hole was involved.
Note that this topic began more than a year ago. Continuing such an old argument probably isn't necessary.
Regarding the issue of Microsoft Office and malware, note that Microsoft just released a security update for Office 2011 for Mac that fixes a vulnerability that can result in a maliciously-constructed document executing malicious code. Keeping software up to date is important.
